PREGNANCY WEEK 22
This week of pregnancy, your baby is about 8 inches in length and weighs close to a pound. Your
baby's eyelids and eyebrows are well developed and even though your baby's eyelids are fused, he or she is now
making blinking movements. The first signs of teeth appear as buds beneath the gum line.
Changes in You:
You may begin to notice leg and foot cramps and some mild swelling (edema) of the ankles and
feet. Prolonged standing and fatigue may be responsible for the cramping. Your doctor may report that your heart
rate has increased somewhat during this week of pregnancy. That's normal and just a sign that your body is having
to work a little harder.
